Born and raised in the Peak District, Jenny has always loved being in natural environments and from an early age has been fascinated by wildlife. Since having two little ´minibeasts’ of her own, her renewed passion and curiosity for nature and natural affinity with young children led her to start ECOkids - a fun and engaging nature-themed preschool group, inspiring a love of nature and care for the environment in young people and families.

´´I find it is so rewarding to encourage children’s inbuilt curiosity of the natural world and help them to learn about their local environment by getting up close with plants and animals and having a go at eco-friendly crafts and wildlife-friendly gardening. It brings me great delight to see joy on their faces at being the one to find a beetle or being brave enough to hold an earthworm.

I believe that if we can support a love of wildlife at such an early age, it will help them learn to build connections to their environment, encourage feelings of empathy and lead them to want to protect and look after it as they grow up.´´

Jenny loves spending time with her family out and about in the lovely Kent countryside and enjoys felting, sewing, weaving and woodland crafts and is always finding new ways to use natural sustainable materials in craft projects.
